Be encouraged (especially through the challenges)

Trials and tribulations can be simply defined as “difficult experiences, problems, etc.” according to Merriam-Webster. When trouble does come our way, it is important to be encouraged. Be hopeful, positive, and realistically optimistic in your expectations throughout life. Hope for the best and be prepared for alternative circumstances. When encountering challenges, consider being intentional in your thinking to:
- Remember you are on a mission…just like soldiers on a battlefield.
- Be flexible, adapt, and stay on mission.
- Visualize your successful outcome(s).
- When you can’t see it…imagine the “finish line” or “victory” of your accomplished goal.
- Celebrate the small victories. After accomplishing small goals toward the big goals, reward yourself with a peaceful break or fun activity.
- Continue to break down big and difficult challenges into small manageable challenges.
- Share your challenges and ask for support from trusted, positive, healthy friends.
- Promise yourself a big reward once you reach your final goal.
- Set firm but flexible deadlines throughout the day, week, month, & year to stay on track.
What challenge(s) are your experiencing today? Write down an encouraging note for each challenge. What will success look like once you overcome this challenge? What will be your positive, healthy reward for overcoming your written challenge? Repeat these questions with each challenge encountered.
